Quizac won the African Excellence Award For The Most Innovative Gamification platform. And So What?

On May 10th, 2021, African Excellence Awards, 4th edition, organized by MEA market, Quizac was awarded “The Most Innovative Gamification Platform of the Year”. This definitely brought excitement and energy to the team as well validates our approach to learning. But in the midst of the euphoria, the real question we asked ourselves was “Are we truly innovative”?

Before I answer that question, let’s pause for a second and switch context to the popular formula one sport. If you aren’t familiar with formula 1 like me, let me help you with some google explanation.

In formula 1, teams compete in a race, Each team names two race drivers for each round of the championship. They compete individually in the drivers’ championship while their combined points go towards the team’s tally in the constructors’ championship. The driver and team with the most points at the end of the season are crowned world champions. In this exciting competition, there’s a crucial moment called the pit stop. a pit stop is a pause for refueling, new tyres replacement (for all 4 wheels), repairs, and mechanical adjustments.

After the pit stop, the bottom team can recover to become the champion so, time spent here is very important that it makes or break a team.

Understanding all these, I’m going to ask you a question and I want you to answer it with sincerity. Don’t google for the answer as that will defeat the purpose of this exercise.

Recently, a new world record was set for the fastest pit stop. Can you guess the record? Even though I’ll reveal the answer below, Let’s know your guess in the comment section.

The world record set was 1.82s. You read that right, 1s and some milliseconds. Wow. Obviously, when the team set this as a goal, some would have doubted it.

So, where I’m going? what am I driving at? Well, what I’m saying is that Innovation stops when curiosity ceases.
